Agent Spotlight: Advice From One Agent to Another



Meet Kaylin, an Arterra agent who has learned a lot in the past two years. After becoming a real estate agent in 2016, Kaylin has been hard at work growing her business from the ground up. In her first year she was able to sell five homes in the price range of $400,000. After going through Arterra's SMART System Training, working hard and learning through hands-on mentoring, Kaylin has been able to grow her business exponentially. In the last year, Kaylin has sold ten homes in the price range of over a million dollars. Agents, if are looking to take your business to the next level, this is Kaylin's message to you.



My best advice for REALTOR's:


1. Don't get discouraged.

Don't get discouraged if a deal falls apart...or you lose out on your fifth or sixth offer...or a lead uses someone else...it's going to happen.


2. Keep a positive attitude.

Even if everything is going wrong, your client may be panicking but your job is to keep them calm and remind them you're going to do everything you can to help. They need that reassurance. Your client trusts YOU, make them feel like they made the right decision picking you as their realtor.


3. Always fill your pipeline.

Talk to everyone you can and pass your card out to everyone. Even if they're not ready to buy or sell right now, they will in the future or they will know someone who is ready.


4. Keep in contact with your Sphere.

Mailers every month or every few months, regular posts on social media, etc. When someone things of REALTOR make sure your name is the first person they think of.


5. Go above and beyond.

Do the best job you can. Whatever it takes to get the deal closed, DO IT! I've had deals where I went through four different lenders to get my buyers approved, I've put money towards a clean out company so a buyer would sign the closing docs on my sellers home, I've scraped and re-painted a basement ceiling so my buyers FHA loan would pass inspection because the sellers refused to and said they'd just put it back on the market. Whatever it is, you HAVE to do it!


6. Treat your client like a friend.

Don't be to "sales-y". Show them you care.


7. Communicate with the other REALTOR on the deal.

The transaction is so much easier when you can talk to the other REALTOR openly; you both have the same end goal, keep that in mind. Also, you never know if a future offer of yours will end up on their desk...if they had a good experience with you and know you will do everything you can to get to the closing table, chances are yours will be picked.


8. Don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for help.

That is why Arterra is so great, we want everyone to succeed. Odds are one of us has been in your situation or we know what the answer is.

9. Don't give up.

Your hard work will pay off. It may take some time, but it will.
